At Inland Seas we feel strongly that replenishing trace elements is a major requirement for long term success in maintaining and propogating corals in captive marine systems. We have formulated a one step trace elements and vitamin supplement called Biotrace to replenish the trace elements and vitamins depleted by filtration, and natural processes in captive marine systems. We suggest that in conjunction with Biotrace One Step Trace Element/Vitamin Supplement, Inland Seas Kalkwasser Calcium Supplement and Marine and Reef Buffer should be used to maintain a calcium level of 400ppm, and an alkalinity level of 3.2 meq/L(9dKH).

MARINE AND REEF CARBON
Inland Seas Marine & Reef Activated Carbon is a premium pelletized activated carbon. Carbon is used to purify aquarium water by removing dissolved organics, medications, and yellowing compounds. Inland Seas Marine & Reef Activated Carbon is a bituminous coal based pelletized carbon.. This carbon has a wide range of micropores and macropores for superior removal of both small and large compounds. Pelletized carbon allows optimum water flow in and around the carbon, and resists trapping of fine particles. Inland Seas Marine & Reef Activated Carbon has a high hardness value to reduce dust.

MARINE AND REEF BUFFER
Inland Seas Marine & Reef Buffer replenishes the carbonate and biocarbonate required to maintain or increase the alkalinity of captive marine systems. Alkalinity (carbonate hardness) in captive marine systems constantly decreases as biological processes remove carbonate, and produce acids that neutralize carbonate. Proper alkalinity is critical in the maintenance of proper pH and the formation of calcium carbonate in coral skeletons and coraline algae. Alklinity should be maintained around 2.5-2.9 meq/l (7-8 dKH) for marine fish tanks and 3.2 - 3.6meq/l (9-10 dKH)

KALKWASSER
Inland Seas Kalkwasser Mix is used to make "Kalkwasser," the German term for a saturated solution of calcium hydroxide in water. Kalkwasser replenishes the calcium used during the growth of stony corals, coraline algae, clams, etc. Other benefits of kalkwasser include the precipitation of phosphate, maintenance of pH and alkalinity, and enhance protein skimming.
